Abstract
In retrospect, costs incurred by developers are no small sum, and if a game does not find itself with returns on release, it threatens small studios and the employees within them. This is a phenomenon still occurring today, with the most recent case being Concord, a live-service game with a massive investment of $400 million. Employees of the
studio was laid off due to low interest and lower
sales figures, with the developer shutting down
shortly after.
